Had been in doubt
Actually, Walt Disney, founder of Walt Disney's entertainment industry, initially had doubts about the character of Christopher Robin since the first film production of Winnie the Pooh.
"I think he appreciates the material but do not know how he would someday be seen, up to two or three-quarters of the way and he wanted to see what we got," says Burny Mattinson, senior artist at Walt Disney often called teacher The Pooh because of his knowledge of the first film Winnie The Pooh.
"So we played and all the cartoon makers present. He sat in the back of the room. Once completed, he out of the room and said 'I think the children will not like this kind of a joke.' In other words there will be no laughter are laughing, "recalls Burny.
So they decided to release it in 1966 as a small 25-minute movie titled Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, and then add other scenes while removing Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day 1969, which won an Academy Award.
Efforts reappoint Winnie the Pooh to the big screen in the 21st century is the brainchild of John Lasseter, the Chairman of the Department of Creative Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.
Lasseter then approached director Don Hall and Stephen Anderson, who agreed with the idea and invited Burny Mattinson participated in the project.
"Due to join the original, would like returning to an old friend," said Mattinson.
